Very good experience. Clean room.

I gave this hotel a five star rating based on the Hotel staff and our room experience. The Hotel was rebuilt in the 1980's but has been well maintained. Some of the bathroom fixtures, mainly faucets are showing there age. The room was extremely comfortable and the view was truly wonderful. We had a corner room on the 4th floor. The noise level was very quite. The bed was a pleasure to sleep in. Continental breakfast was served every mourning in our room, which had a small table perfect for two people. We enjoyed the room so much that we spent quite of bit of time just relaxing in our room. Car parking was taken care of by the valets. Also, we used the gas fireplace to remove the morning chill, from the ocean air coming through the window opening we would leave opened during the night, while we ate our breakfast. We will most definitely be returning for future stays at Spindrift Inn.

Staff very friendly, especially the front guys who got our car etc. very comfortable pillows and bedding. Great location Noise night club across the street and no a/c so you had to open windows and then heard loud music

The room was beautifully decorated. I loved breakfast being delivered to our room. The happy hour wine, cheese, & crackers were a nice touch. The hotel was walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the aquarium.

[+]: Fireplace, clean, amazing location, good room service from restaurant, early check-in, wine & cheese daily, friendly staff (-1 front desk woman), comfortable mattress and pillows, several small issues were also addressed promptly overall [-]: Our first day we arrived and the young man at the valet barely greeted us and didn’t offer to help with our luggage, even though my mother used a cane to walk and he helped other guests later. Then the other valet gentleman took 13 minutes to retrieve our car with no apology (he was apparently on a break and no one else was helping) and when I voiced some mild frustration with the front desk, the young woman with glasses was bafflingly rude to me - she offered no apology either, barely made eye contact, and should honestly be given more training. The rest of the staff including other valet were very nice and helpful. Other issues included our room temperature (couldn’t turn off HEAT setting, noise from the bar across street, a meager breakfast compared to the cost of the room, and WiFi that stopped working altogether on our last day. It’s a nice hotel with mostly good staff and the location can’t be beat, but it’s grossly overpriced and there were some glaring problems that dampened our experience.

The room was beautiful, spacious, clean, and right on the beach. Also loved the in room breakfast. Quite expensive unless you receive a special discount.

I almost don’t want to write a review because I want to keep this place all to myself! The view from our room was breathtaking. The room itself had a dedicated seating area facing the ocean with large windows. The bed was a little challenging as it’s a lot higher than I expected. The hotel is older, but the charm and cleanliness make it a must stay. The staff were helpful whenever we needed something. When we come back, we will definitely choose to stay at the Spindrift again.

Perfect location for visiting Monterey’s magnificent aquarium; welcoming sunrise over the ocean; fireplace in the room. Nice continental breakfast in the room. Nothing to dislike!!

Great place to eat!!!

It is right above McAbee beach. Right on the water. There are rooms on road side also. For best stay make sure you book ocean view. The beach closes at 9pm but Some nights public are talking and swimming after midnight. You will need to call down to front desk and security will remind them that the beach is closed.
