Red Roof Inn & Suites Monterey

The room was exactly the same as on the website. Actually better than I anticipate. It was clean and well maintained. Parking was very good. The location was great. It was close to everything. The staff was very friendly especially the young lady who checked me in. I would definitely stay here again.

Buildings, rooms and grounds could be deemed inhabitable with zero exaggeration. Toilet did not flush, maintenance had gone home so we were advised to take the lid off and manually press to get it to flush. Floors, furniture, bedding and bath linens were grey and ratty (once white). Doors to rooms hit furniture so they could not be opened completely. Gutters on building were hanging, parking lot had several abandoned vehicles and trailers. If it weren’t the ONLY room left in Monterey for car week, we would have left. Would have rather slept in my car by the open dumpster and debris all over the parking lot.

The only issue I had during the stay was on the first night there were a young couple wandering the property and tried to follow me to my room and I had to let them know do not get anywhere near me so they left but continued to wander on property. Told the staff and he went look for them but without success and I did not see them return for the rest of my stay.

First the AC was not working, the couldn’t switch my family rooms or even discount the room they offer a little fan instead, next there were ants everywhere the first morning we woke up, no pest control, they did clean the room but they were back by evening. Terrible, front desk guys were very nice but nobody was very helpful, with any actual solutions

It’s a nice little spot about 15 mins away from Cannery Row. The staff members were very nice. The room was nice and clean. Definitely a good price for a 1 night stay for 2 people! The fan was not working in our bathroom.

I Love the Red Roof inn. My dog loves to.

The front office experience ruined the trip. Horrible woman at front desk that you are forced to deal with. She was unprofessional and verbally abusive.

Absolutely horrible experience!!! The front desk staff member was horrendous! The last thing you want to deal with on a vacation!! I’m absolutely disgusted about what happened to me by the staff member. Appalling.

Booked two weeks in advance even called to verify 2 days before my check-in and the day I show up im informed that the room is booked for me and my children was no longer available due to the roof collapsing cuz if a plumbing issue. I was never called or let know ahead of my arrival even though the incident was 4 days before my arrival. When I asked for the manager she told staff via email that she wasn't available to speak to me and I COULD FIND A DIFFERENT HOTEL if id like. Worst customer service possible. No blame on receptionist but manager refused to communicate with me about the situation even thos she was on the property. Never stay here.
